**update: I found out this week that level will be shutting down September 1 and is no longer available for download! So sad to lose this great budgeting tool!**
I bet the title of this blog post immediately caused some people to skip it! But for those who are sticking with me, I promise to keep it short!
If you're looking for an easy, streamlined way to track your budget, I highly recommend the Level app. I've been a loyal user for years, including working through some pretty major design changes. I've tried many apps, always looking for the next best option but Level has continued to meet my needs, keep it simple, and be flexible enough for a range of uses.
So what makes it better than other apps? It tracks your income, reoccurring expenses (must be at least monthly), and daily spending by linking to your bank accounts. That's it. For some, that's all you need and other apps over complicate what should be an easy equation. Level helps to calculate your budget by starting with your monthly income, subtracting monthly expenses and monthly savings goal (adjustable), and determines how much that leaves for spending.
On top of tracking your spending, the app lets you categorize your spending. For example: groceries, gas, eating out, coffee, pet costs, etc. Then you can compare month to month on where your spending went and determine trends and where you can cut back.
This app has been my go-to for years to make sure I'm on track! It is unfortunately prone to bugs but they are quick to fix them and get things running again.
If your life is more complicated, this might not be enough for you. But did the average person, this app can really help guide you through each month, meet your budget goals, and plan for the future. Give it a shot! It's a free download for iPhone users!
See, that was short 🙂
