As I have mentioned on previous posts, I am a long time Bobby Bones fan. The Bobby Bones Show is a country music talk show based out of Nashville with three primary personalities: Bobby Bones, Amy, and Lunchbox. It is a very casual, personable, and positive show and I am amazed at how attached I am to these complete strangers!
This week is just one example of how awesome this show is, and that’s because this week is Joy Week.
From Monday, August 28 through Friday, September 1, the show will encourage listeners to choose joy, spread happiness, and do good things for others. During this fourth-annual week, the Bobby Bones Show will be celebrating by bringing in a week’s worth of live studio performances by Country music stars.
Maren Morris, Brett Eldredge, Dustin Lynch, Rascal Flatts and a special surprise guest will join the show this week to perform hits and favorite cover songs. For the first time this year, listeners will have hour-long, full-band concerts with the artists! Maren Morris was on this morning and she was fantastic!
Here is the performance schedule:
- August 28, 7 a.m. CT: Maren Morris
- August 29, 7 a.m. CT: Brett Eldredge
- August 30, 7 a.m. CT: Dustin Lynch
- August 31, 7 a.m. CT: Rascal Flatts
- September 1, 7 a.m. CT: Mystery Artist
If you can’t listen live, you can listen to the interviews through the iHeartMedia app or the podcast (through whatever podcast app you prefer!). But I believe the songs will only be available for listening on the Bobby Bones Show website (copyright reasons…).
The story behind Joy Week is the #PIMPINJOY message that the Bobby Bones Show created in honor of Amy’s mother who passed away in 2014 after battling cancer. I highly recommend you read Amy’s blog post about her mother or listen to her story from this morning’s show.
I encourage you all to join me in sharing your Joy Week efforts through Twitter and Instagram using #PimpinJoy. You can also purchase limited edition neon #PimpinJoy apparel through The Shop Forward with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since the #PimpinJoy movement was launched in 2014, more than a million dollars has been raised to support many worthy causes! I probably shouldn’t admit to how many tank tops I own from The Shop Forward…
Go forth and spread JOY!
- How do you spread joy to others in your life?
- Has someone recently given you joy?
